Release 0.8 is a validated snapshot of 56 station identities, 27 terminals, and 17 accepted link events. The public beta is intentionally read-only while contribution identity, moderation, and abuse controls are completed.
What the release says
OGS Tracker separates persistent infrastructure identity from claims about it. A Site hosts a Station; a Station or Spacecraft contains a Terminal; a Link connects uniquely resolved Terminal endpoints; each observed attempt or demonstration remains its own Event. Claims retain their Sources, review state, and time context.
What it does not say
An empty field means “not documented,” not zero. A capability is not proof of interoperability. A compatibility assessment is not a demonstrated Link. Operational status does not establish commercial availability. Acquisition, beacon return, signal observation, decoded communication, QKD, and deployment remain distinct event claims.
Location precision
Map points retain a precision class and, where available, an uncertainty value. Exact, approximate, locality, and region-level positions are not rendered as equivalent evidence. Do not use the map for navigation, site access, safety, targeting, or other operational purposes.
Corrections and missing records
Corrections are free and follow the same evidence standard for operators, researchers, and readers. A useful correction names the stable record id, the specific claim, the proposed replacement, the supporting source, and the date the source was checked. Conflicting evidence is preserved for review rather than silently overwritten.
Public on-site submissions are paused during the read-only beta. Send sourced corrections through the existing OGS Tracker contribution channel ↗ or contact the maintainer through the established LinkedIn profile ↗. Do not send confidential or operationally sensitive material.
Release discipline
A contribution stages a Claim; it does not change the canonical release. Review decisions remain attributable and reversible. Accepted claims enter a draft projection. Validation must pass before a numbered snapshot is published, and prior release history remains intact.
Reuse and privacy
Read the Data License + Citation page before republishing the compilation, and the Privacy Policy before contacting the project. Regulatory notes are simplified orientation, not legal advice. Engineering and operational decisions require independent verification.
