These sites are publicly claimed but don't yet meet the registry's inclusion bar, so they are kept out of the station count, the map, and exports, listed here for transparency, each with why it falls short. They graduate to the registry when a named operator, a named location, and a citable source all line up. See the methodology.
Expect a growing share of this list to be retrofit claims. A focal-plane assembly fitted to a telescope that already exists is far quicker to announce than a new station, and the announcement almost always arrives before the documentation. Those claims are recorded here with the host facility named, and graduate on exactly the same terms as any other. A telescope that could take a kit is not a claim and is not listed: the registry keeps no candidate sites.

Spotted a missing station, a stale field, or a better source? Send a correction. This reaches the data desk directly and is separate from the launch mailing list. Include a source URL where you can; sourced corrections are applied fastest and credited if you'd like.
